James North, Director

James specialises in NorthPoint Strategy’s energy and energy efficiency practice and in 2022, he co-founded the Heat and Building Business Council. James also independently represents clients in the clean heat sector to navigate complex policy challenges.

As well as energy policy, James specialises in running high-profile political campaigns and in 2022 navigated a complex legal and political landscape to lead a campaign representing a high-profile bidder in the acquisition of Chelsea Football Club.

In the same year, James played a critical role in building consensus and resolving a prolonged dispute between the Criminal Bar Association and the Government over legal aid fees. He was subsequently recognised for this work in 2023 and was nominated as one of the 30 people under the age of 30 to watch in the UK.

Before co-founding NorthPoint Strategy, James spent the early years of his career working in Parliament for a Government Minister, as well as serving at several public affairs agencies where he represented clients in the pharmaceuticals and housing sectors.
